要學翻譯句子

第一件事情要做句型分析

畢竟中文和英文之間差異不少

練習一 找出主詞和主要動詞，因為英文句子中只有一個主要動詞。

         而主詞為名詞性質的片語

人類活動，包括了化石燃料的燃燒和森林濫砍，已經造成了大氣中的二氧化碳急遽增加。

從上述中文句子，主詞不難找出是「人類活動」

逗點之間的為插入語，不是句子的結構之一，所以真正的動詞為「造成」

而「已經」可以明確指出時態為現在完成式

因此翻譯這句子的雛型已經出現

Human activites, including the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, have caused ~

「其中包括~」的句型為以上所寫的

一般的名詞片語在翻譯時請以複數代表整體，而且前面不可以有the，如此就不需要考慮第三人稱單數的問題。

fossil fuel cn. 化石燃料

deforestation un. 過度伐林

那麼接下去翻「造成」之後的部分

~, have caused the carbon dioxide in the atomsphere to rise/ increase sharply.

cause sb./ sth. to V的語型是最方便的翻譯方法

如果使用其他像result in或lead to等片語，那麼寫法反而會更複雜，不容易書寫。

等等公布解答時可以比較看看

解答：

Human activities, including the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, have caused

the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to rise/ increase sharply.

或是

Human activities, including the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, have led to

a sharp increase in the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

急速增加變成形容詞和名詞的組合

練習二 用關代翻譯一長串的中文形容詞

被困在大氣中的溫室氣體是全球暖化的原因，應該要馬上減少。

「被困在大氣中的」這個部分不能只用一個形容詞表達，因此要使用關代來書寫，而且要加the表示特定。

The greenhouse gases which are trapped in the atmosphere

「是~的原因」可以使用be responsible for sth.或者是be to blame for sth.

global warming un. 全球暖化

「應該馬上減少」這個部分為陷阱

因為中文有省略主詞的特色，所以要還原(觀念釐清，所以要懂得還原)

加上這裡又是動詞片語，必須要補上連接詞and 

解答：

The greenhouse gases which are trapped in the atmoshpere are responsible for global

warming, and they should be reduced right away/ at once/ immediately.

或是

The greenhouse gases trapped in the atmoshpere are to blame for global warming and

should be reduced right away/ at once/ immediately.

這句話是較精簡的寫法

關代部分改為分詞片語(省略which are)

主詞they也可以省去，但是前方的逗點就要刪除為佳。
